I never expected to see my photo on a website, unless maybe it was on a "MOST WANTED" page for not using enough postage on a letter or something.  But there is plenty of time-worn advice about expecting the unexpected, and never-say-never, and more where that came from.  I certainly hope that you were able to quickly determine that the whole Voodoo Solar concept is not to be taken seriously.  That is, it has nothing at all to do with any sort of mystical practice or religion.  If someone out there is offended b
sun worshipery my jest, I hope they will forgive my indiscretion and choose to not cast a spell on me for it.
The truth is, I just couldn't bear to choose a business name that sounded too serious and conventional.  That just isn't me, despite my effort to put on a good evil-eye sort of expression in the photo.

But more to the point, you are probably here to learn about alternative energy systems, or buy equipment, or maybe because you need some help and you have discovered that it is difficult to find.  That gives us a bond, because I'm here to supply all of those things for you.  And I'm dedicated to the cause, as evidenced by the jillions of hours it is taking me to learn how to build a website from a zero-knowledge starting point.  The good thing for both of us, is that I know a heck of a lot more about electricity and off-grid living than I know about web design.  My family and I have been making our own electricity for nearly two decades.  We built our first off-grid home while I was an electrical technician for a company that builds robotic, computer-chip manufacturing equipment.  There, I built ultra-reliable power distribution systems that were the heart of those multi-million-dollar monsters, before becoming a technical writer to document the manufacturing processes for international standards certification.  The concepts and practices (and even a lot of the devices) used in that highly specialized industry are amazingly like those used in the world of alternative energy production.  Coupled with many years of experience as a concert sound technician, designing and operating huge sound systems, the notion of off-grid power systems is right up my alley.

So, after doing a spell with another well-known but unnamed alternative energy products supplier, fate has given me the good fortune to be your helpful guide and friendly companion in the world of independent power generation and off-grid living.  Rest assured that I will serve your needs to the best of my ability, which should be more than enough in most cases.  And hey, if your needs are a little beyond me for some reason, I'll be up front with you about that too.  Thanks for stopping by!

Warm Regards,
Don Clark
