An assembled inverter power center usually consists of one or more inverter/chargers that are attached and connected to the appropriate electrical enclosure. Circuit breakers are installed for AC or DC loads, including a large main disconnect breaker to protect the inverter. Usually one or more charge controllers, system meters, or programming interfaces will be installed, as well as lightning protection. The major advantage of buying an assembled power center is that the technical work is done for you and the main electronic components of the system have been connected with the proper wire size and type power center magnum sinewave inverter

, and tested. The proper enclosure parts and related components have been chosen by experienced professionals. You receive a power system that is neat, properly connected, pre-tested and ready to install with minimal time and effort.

If you are paying an electrician to do the installation, it is certain that you will save labor costs by buying a pre-built, pre-tested power center because the assembly work is done by experienced professionals under ideal production conditions instead of an on-site assembly job. If you are installing the system yourself, a pre-wired power center makes the job much simpler, providing easy connection points for:

Battery main connection
AC power in from generator
AC power out to your home or RV electrical panel

In many cases, these four connections are all that are needed!

We produce most of these power centers right here at Voodoo Solar. If you are buying a complete system from us, we even pre-program the charge controller, battery monitor and inverter to match the other components in your system. This means your system is up and running with a minimum of hassle. When a charge controller is included in the system, properly sized circuit breakers are installed to match, and the vent fan relay is installed if you purchase a battery vent fan for your system. Other circuit breakers for AC or DC loads can be pre-installed for you as well. We're happy to be able to offer these power center packages at a VERY competitive price.

the door of the enclosure, which makes a very compact package while still providing easy accessibility to the wiring by opening the door. Very simple and intelligent. Circuit breakers are on the sides of the enclosure. Charge controls and other devices are easily connected to the power center, and all of the breakers are in a central location. Difficult to see, but on top of the enclosure there are three silver cylinders. These are included lightning arrestors, very important to the safety of your expensive components.

In the next photo, the same power center has the door open to show the internal wiring. The right side of the enclosure includes a charge controller. The Magnum MERC50 inverter remote control can also mount on the right side, or more commonly it is installed in a convenient location in your home for easy control and monitoring of your solar electric system. The rectangular black box on the lower right is the Magnum ME-BMK battery monitor unit (included!) that interfaces with the remote control to give you accurate information about the status of your battery charge. We think this is a very intelligent device, and essential to the proper care of your battery.

As you can see, power centers are a very clean and attractive method for interfacing your power system components in a compact package, while providing for the appropriate circuit breakers and safety equipment. If electrical inspection is an issue in your locality, a pre-assembled power center is the way to get through the inspection with less likelihood of any hassles. A "nice" installation also increases your home's value if you should ever sell your property. Understandably, potential buyers want to feel like the job was properly done, and aesthetics are an important part of that perception.

Mini-Magnum Panel Power Center

Magnum Energy's entry into the power center market is a natural progression of their spirit of innovation and product refinement. So it's no surprise that the Mini-Magnum Panel is smart and functional, and a perfect match for their excellent Magnasine sinewave inverters. The Mini-Magnum design is sleek, clean and compact with all controls and circuit breaker access up front. Overall size is 16-3/4" x 34-3/16", an outback charge controller adds about 5" to the width on the right side.

The MMP is designed for single-inverter applications, however it is possible to add a second power center to double the output (PAE series inverters only). The photo shows a completed power center with Magnum inverter, mounted on the steel backplate. The included MERC-50 remote control is mounted in front, but optionally can be installed in a remote location up to 150' away (comes standard with a 50' wire). AC input circuit breaker and inverter-bypass breakers are mounted on left. Main inverter disconnect breaker on far right. Spaces for optional DC circuit breakers are available in the middle, such as for connecting a charge controller or to power DC refrigeration or lighting. Charge controllers such as the Outback FM60 and FM80 can be mounted directly to the side of the enclosure.

The ME-BMK battery monitor kit is an important feature that is included in your Mini-Magnum Power Center as standard equipment. The ME-BMK gives you precise battery monitoring capability right from the remote control! View battery voltage, current flow, and battery state-of-charge (SOC) displayed as a % of full charge. This valuable information is essential to the care and long-life of your expensive battery set. When networked with the optional ME-ARC advanced remote and the ME-AGS-N auto generator start, you have precise and comprehensive control of your generator... at your fingertips.

Shipped to you fully assembled, wired and tested. Includes MERC-50 standard remote control unit. Optional charge controllers, circuit breakers and accessories are also installed and tested. Magnum Energy Multi-Inverter Power Centers

Magnum Energy does it again with their new line of multi-inverter power centers for use with Magnasine 4024PAE (24 volt) and 4448PAE (48 volt) inverters, which are built for parallel output connection. This means that multiple inverters add their power together to handle larger load requirements, as well as multiplying their battery charging capabilities. Both the Magnum 4024PAE and 4448PAE inverters supply 120/240 volt AC output to power both 120 volt and 240 volt appliances and tools. Engineered to be both compact and adaptable to multiple configurations with an emphasis on expandability. This is the newest offering from Magnum. They are similar in design to the Mini-Magnum panels, but with interchangable parts to allow up to four inverters to be connected in parallel for up to 17,600 watts continuous sinewave output!

Because of the versatility of these power centers, there are several possible configurations based on your current needs AND your possible plans for future expansion. Each panel configuration listed in the table below shows the total continuous sinewave AC output of the system, the battery charging capability in DC Amps, and the price for the power center, assembled and tested. Multi-inverter power centers include the ME-BMK battery monitor interface and the ME-RTR communications router/ control for complete multiple inverter management and monitoring. The ME-RTR router is physically connected to the power center. If you desire remote monitoring and control of the system, the ME-RC50 remote or ME-ARC50 advanced remote are required at an additional charge. Like all of our power centers, they are assembled, wired, tested and shipped to you ready for installation! MPSL-30D two inverter system is shown below with two optional FM80 charge controllers installed.

Note: Adding inverters to the basic system requires the MPX expansion box and various other parts for each additional inverter. In each of the configurations shown in the table below, the lowest-price system comes with all of the parts needed to upgrade fully to the largest system in it's range (moving to the right). Only the additional inverters are needed for the upgrade. So if you want to begin with a smaller system and add to it later, all of the parts and wiring are ready for the additional inverters. It is possible however to decrease the initial cost by omitting some of the expansion parts until you need them- if you want to do this please contact us for pricing. If you have no desire to expand your system beyond a single inverter, better to choose the Mini-Magnum Panel or Midnite Solar E-Panel shown above.

Midnite Solar E-Panel with Outback Inverters

Here we have an Outback inverter mounted on a Midnite Solar E-Panel with an Outback FM60 charge control. Depending on your needs, a single electrical enclosure such as this can house all the equipment you need for your power system (except for the batteries). The output of the inverter would be wired into the standard electrical breaker panel for your home. This power center is very similar to the Magnum power centers above, but the E-panel is optimized for use with Outback inverters.

These Power Centers also use Midnite Solar's E-Panel power center enclosures. The gray or white steel cabinets are left-hinged unless you specify otherwise. These power centers feature OutBack Power inverters . Lightning arrestors are included. As with the other E-panels, there is space for optional AC and DC circuit breakers, battery monitors, etc. Includes HUB4 communication hub, and MATE controller. Add a Flexnet DC battery monitor module for $410 installed. The inverters marked "gridtie" are appropriate for gridtie applications.

Outback Inverters with Outback Flexware Power Center

enclosures. Unlike Midnite Solar E-panels, Outback uses two discreet enclosures, one for the DC wiring and breakers, the other for the AC wiring and breakers. You can see an Outback charge control on the right side. The setup for a single inverter uses the same electrical enclosures

Please note the distinction between an Outback Power Center system, as opposed to a Midnite Solar E-Panel with Outback inverter(s). Both work equally well, but are of different design.
